Hi there, missus expecting our first baby, so need something in this price bracket, may consider an extra 50 quid if it makes a huge difference to function and quality.

Anyone give me a list of some decent camcorders in this range, don't want to buy a pup!

Some have found the HDV Sony HC5 for just over £350, which is a bargin, excellent HDV quality at an affordable price. But I can only find it for £399 at Amazon.

Closer to £300, The panasonic GS330 at £339. It is standard definition, but good.

Thanks for this info. I just cancelled my order of GS330 from purelygadgets as they've given me false information on the status of my order. I will try to order from this new site.
