What format to choose?

Hi, i'm new @ this and was wondering what format is the better or best: Hi8, DV, MMC, VHS-C ...
I'm looking to purchase a camcorder within the next 2 days and have no idea. Ideally i want something thats easy to connect to my pc (also new @ the whole video editing thing), with the best quality. Any info regarding this matter will b greatly appreciated.

DV/MiniDV.......

Stay away from MMV unless you want loads of agro transferring it.

Hi8 and VHS-C are not digital and so again, you'd have to mess about getting it on to your PC.

I've now got a Mini DV having had Hi8 and MMV and transferring soem film to the PC over the weekend was a **** of ****.
