Import from DVD to editing program

Import from DVD to editing program

How do I get video off a DVD into e.g. Sony Vegas?

Nothing seems to recognise .VOB files.

What version of Vegas do you have and what have you tried?
See the screenshot linked below
This is what Id do navigating from the "media" option to the DVD, (although renaming them as mpg might help if they are on the HDD)
Once youve navigated to the DVDs video ts folder, open it and where it says files of type: choose All files, instead of the default All media files, VOBS will become visible (and importable)

Just make sure it isnt from copy protected DVDs

Yes..
Thanks . Id forgotten about that
That way you simply need to browse to the disc . it will find the folder itself ( and even ask you where you want to import them to)
It will import all of them though, which is perfect if you dont have the inclination to select any
With the first method you can select what you want

Many thanks - all files instead of all media files did it. Not sure why I hadn't tried that....
