Vegas 6 - Movie Studio + DVD - Platinum Edition

Would the above be suitable for editing HD movies from a Sony HDR-SR12E anyone please ?

Also if i bought this second hand would i have problems registering or updating this product if its been pre-owned and installed by the previous owner ?

1. No, you need Vegas 8 - Movie Studio + DVD - Platinum Edition to edit AVCHD (or Vegas 7.0e "pro").

2. I think you can register it and get updates. But if the person you bought it from used it to get a reduced price upgrade to a new release, you can't do that again.
