Panasonic DMR E30 and MX500???

Hi peeps,

Hi have an E30 DVD burner and an MX500 Panasonic DV Camcorder. I'm not sure how I should export footage that has been edited, using Adobe 6.5 on PC, to my camcorder by firewire and then from the camcorder to my E30 by svideo lead in order to burn it onto dvd-r.

Do I change it to mjeg or avi or what? I have the adobe bible but it's still hard work to understand what I should do due to the type of equipment I have, any ideas? It's going to be played onto my plasma so the best quality would be nice.

Many thanks for any help

Alex

A DV camcorder will record its footage in AVI. When you copy it to your PC it should stay in AVI to keep all of that quality, but this does mean that 4 minutes of footage will take around 1Gb of disk space.
Copy back to your camcorder in AVI and you will still have full quality. When you copy to the DVD burner it will convert the footage to MPEG-2 on the fly and therefore giving you the best possible quality DVD, unless your burner has a firewire port which would mean there was no conversion to analogue.
