PC has a 6 pin connection
Camcorder has a 4 pin connection

Therefore you need a 4pin to 6pin cable.

Are you going to export a movie from your camera to your PC, if so I am a newbie at this and was thinking of buying a new Sony microDV cam solely for this purpose.

I have a PC with a SONY DVD recorder and wanted to eventually create my own DVD's. I haven't got any editing software just yet, any advice!!!

For a camcorder I would suggest that you go for a mini DV format camera rather than a micro DV
micro Dv is Sony only, smaller choice of models and lower quality.

Editing software is open to loads of different products. One of the favorites and easiest to use is Pinnacle Studio 8. Also check to see if you have a DV capture card on your PC, as this is the only method of getting full quality video onto a PC.
