No, I don't think any of us would buy one of those. As Victor would say, "I just don't believe it."

Yeah, I thought that might be the case.

Is it a rebranded version of something more widely available?

Re: 1080i Camcorder for £120 - ANyone have one?

It's a cheapo mpeg4 camcorder that outputs 1280 x 720p max (like the Sanyo Xacti range) but quite how they can describe it as Full HD HDMI 1080 when it only outputs 720p at its highest resolution is way beyond me.

The SD card looks dodgy too. It's marked as Class 4 but SD isn't, it#s only SDHC that has Classes.

The whole thing looks really iffy. I should save your £120 towards a proper cam.

I got one of those cheap ones through Maplin (as they have good return facilities) and I took it back the next morning as soon as they opened. I thought how bad can the picture be, but it really is that very bad. Not a single hint of HD about it...

I can't see that as being a good reason not to buy one. I'm sure lots of things worth having come from Hong Kong.

I agree! No reason at all. I have bought loads if stuff from hong kong. Cheaper and often faster delivery. No reason at all to avoid.

Provided you are selective in your purchases. This one does look odd, and since they specify 'sd cards up to 4GB' it clearly doesn't support SDHC. But I always find it remarkable just what strange devices do appear from the far east! 11Megapixels WoW!!!

This i would agree with entirely

Besides it does make returns( and refunds) a little trickier especially for an item which is so obviously advertised ( misleadingly) and is unlikely not to be returned ( at your cost ) if it isnt faulty

It's OK, he posted a "Wanted" ad for a real one in the classifieds last night. The name rang a bell, though, from somewhere...
