Question Which Camcorder?

Hi All

I have been looking around and think i'm going to get either,

Sony DCRSR32E
or
JVC GZ-MG155EK
or
JVC GZ-MG130EK

Which would you get and why??

Is there another similar priced unit you would choose instead of these listed

Will all 3 be ok with Windows Movie Maker or would I need some different editing software

Thanks

Re: Which Camcorder?

TBH all 3 would give similar results. Having used a JVC ( not sure of model no now) and Sony on test. I think you will not be overwhelmed
HDD camcorders at this price point are poor value
Video quality in good light is so so to very average.
In less bright light.. very grainy with washed out colour , and distintly average audio
MiniDV tape at this price would give you far better , but if you have put tape behind you , I would suggest you save up a bit more and aim for the £400 mark for the likes of a Sony SR 190

They record to mpeg2 : The WMM version that ships with Windows XP sp2 is a capable freebee but any of the currently available Software editors will do a far better job

The aim of this post is not to encourage you to spend beyond what you can afford; It is to perhaps make you aware that you may be better off saving for better and getting software you can use for a while rather than buying the camcorder and finding to need to flog it off on ebay .. or struggling with WMM only to find there is better and ( inexpensive) out there
Good Luck
