No Audio in imove from Canon MD 160

First go at this and haven't a clue what I'm doing, but here goes:
I've recently bought a Canon MD 160 and have tried transferring footage to my Mac OSX 10.4.11 (iMovie) using a 6pin/4pin firewire (??) and I don't seem to have captured the audio. I've tried everything the iMovie help suggests, but can still detect no sound. Does anyone know why that might be?

Many thanks
Rooster

Re: No Audio in imove from Canon MD 160

Could be a dodgy firewire cable...
