capture with panasonic nv-ds27

Hi evrybody,
i have a panasonic nv-ds27 camera and i want to capture videos to my pc for editing, i bought a tv card but i does not do what i planed, the quality and resolution is too bad.
I don't know it's a firewire port on it (the cam) i have an iDV port, is that a firewire port?
can i have a best resolution with firewire(more than 352*288)?
thank you...

Yes it is a firewire port

Yes you can have better image quality using it

Your camera *might* not have DV IN enabled though but if you do a search for Panatest on Google, you can change this.

Well the cards are only £15 so not too bad

You should not need any drivers though (other than what the firewire card needs and that will come with the card)

ds27

Be aware that if the serial number of your DS27 begins with a J , Panatest will not be able to enable the DV in. Mine does so I havent been able to get edited video back on to a DV tape
