Laptop for Vegas Pro 8 (DV, eventually HDV)?

Hi, Just a quick question for my friend who's getting a new laptop and Vegas Pro shortly. He was wondering whether this Sony laptop would be worth getting - if the spec looks about right and if anyone thinks it's reasonable value (I guess there's a bit of a premium for the name, and for it including a BluRay player drive)? (I haven't bought a computer for ages!)

SONY VGN-AR51J (£800 at PC World)

Intel T7250 Core 2 Duo T7250, 2.0 GHz
2 GB RAM
250 GB HDD
17" WXGA+ X-black widescreen
BluRay combo / DVD-RW
Windows Vista Home Premium
firewire, HDMI

I know Vegas recommends:
1 GHz (2.8 GHz for HDV)
1 GB+ RAM

Thanks for any brief advice / encouragements / warnings!!

Re: Laptop for Vegas Pro 8 (DV, eventually HDV)?

I'm not up on what is a good deal PC-wise, but that PC will certainly run Vegas fine, even editing AVCHD.
I'm sure you know, but to be sure... when Vegas recomments "2.8 GHz for HDV" that is assiming a P4 (single core). A 2.0 core 2 Duo is more than enough.
