looking for a small Sony 3ccd HD camcorder

I am looking for a palm size 3ccd HD, HDD camcorder, i prefer to get a Sony because i have always had sony and prefer them, but so far the only 3ccd, HD types that i found from Sony are very big camcorders, usually the semi pro types with a carry handle and over £1000.

I found a small Sony HD cam corder but it was only single ccd.

I found a JVC 3ccd, HD, 60gb hdd, type thats around £600 and small enough to take on holiday, and im very tempted to go for it if i cant find a 3ccd Sony type.

If im going for HD, i want all or nothing, and in my oppinion 3ccd knocks spots off single ccd pictures!

Dose anyone know if Sony do a small 3ccd, HD, HDD camcorder?

I don't but can I ask, why Sony? You really have to examine whether a) you really want a Sony and why or b) you want the right camcorder.

The current best 3CCD small camcorder, in my opinion, is the Panasonic HDC-SD5. It wins the record for smallest and lightest 3CCD and its follow up, the SD9 is on the way and has extra features such as true 1080p, face detection and is even smaller and lighter.

Go ahead and be recommended a Sony by all means but, currently at least, you're going to miss out my friend, simple as that.

The Panasonic will also no doubt be cheaper (in price only) as you don't have to pay Sony-tax!

I also ask..Why Sony? and Why 3CCD?

I do have a Sony ( or 2) which are 3CCD, but big , and a smaller one which is not
All the brands have Stars ( and not so great kit) ,
Buy the JVC if you must but be aware that paper specs dont tell the whole story and 3 CCD is not nessesarily better than a single CCD or CMOS
The output is the final judge not brand name or no of sensors

No, Sony doesn't do a small 3 CCD model. (Panasonic does).
Panasonic doesn't do a small model with a large CMOS. (Sony does).
