Sony HDR HC3 and Mac

Hello,

I've been trying for the life of me to transfer my tape in my Sony HDR HC3 onto my Mac Powerbook G4 (running OS X and Imovie HD 5.x). Has anyone had success in transfering their video onto a MAC? I don't care if it's HD or non-HD (although all my recordings have been in HD), I just want to burn to DVD.
My Mac recognizes the video camera via the firewire cable that I'm using, however when I click on the "import" button nothing happens outside of a blue screen on the Mac.
I've tried different settings on my Sony, such as with the i.link on/off and with it being in VCR HDV/DV or just plain DV mode, nothing seems to work.
Can it really be that there is no compatibility between Sony and a Mac? Let me know if anyone has some simple instructions on how to get this accomplished.

Thanks
Dave

Re: Sony HDR HC3 and Mac

I can't help you very much. I use a Sony HC3 with an iMac G5 and I have had no problems - it just works.
