Re: direct tvs.co.uk

Terrible company-should never have given them a try.
Ordered a TV stand that was delivered reasonably promptly. Unfortunately, the TV stand had had its front door ripped off at the hinges. I did not see this until I had unpacked. I was not happy with this but accepted that these things happen. However, my real troubles began with trying to arrange delivery. In brief summary, the couriers have turned up on 2 occasions without giving any notice (and i was therefore not at home), and i have taken a further two days off work for this collection but not had the couriers turn up as agreed. In addition, when i called up at 4:40pm today to ask where 'today's' courier was, I was put on hold by an 'assistant' until 5pm at which point I was cut off. On calling back, I received an answer phone message saying that their business hours finish at 5pm.
Finally, they have refused to give me a refund until they have the product back which is illegal under the Distance Selling Regulations. Avoid!!!

Re: direct tvs.co.uk

The worse customer service I have ever experienced. Ordered 42" LCD TV. We also started to have problems when they asked us to organise delivery with their courier. No one ever heard of us there. So I had to call directtvs back, three times I was put on hold and then they cut me off. In the end when I was really angry I spoke to guy called Nathan who was very rude. Well, they all were. He called me back that their courier will deliver our TV on Tuesday next week, all day delivery. So I objected they have promised 2 hours slots, he replied it will be between 12 and 2pm. Of course I did ask how come he has 2 hours slot and would not tell me? He just replied that they can deliver any time. I argued that no one would be home any other time. He would not even let me finish my sentence. So I`ve decided to cancel our order and speak to his boss. I was told that it takes 48 hours to speak to someone in charge. No need to say that nobody contacted us back, they do not reply to their emessages and hang up when we call them. We have not received our money back either! We are contacting our bank and Trading Standards. All together I`ve spent 60 minutes on the phone with them, which I have to pay for. I wish I listen to others people before I`ve ordered

You don't say which camcorder but even at that price it isn't a great deal and with the posts suggesting a less that great customer experience I would look elsewhere
While still on the topic ..why a DVD camcorder?

Re: directtv's.co.uk

I decided to purchase a TV from Directtv's.co.uk for christmas, as a present for my son. I orderd the TV two weeks before christmas with a promised delivery date of between 3/4 working days. After the third day I rang to enquire about the delivery of the TV, only to be told that there had been a problem with the availability on the particular model I had purchased. I quicky reminded Directtv's that when I placed the order they were quoting 50 plus TV in stock. This fell on deaf ears and I was eventually promised a next day delivery between 10am - 2pm, after the dead line came and went, I again contacted Directtv's and demanded an explanation, only to be told that the particular model I had choosen was out of stock. After telling the operator that this was no excuse and demanding to speak to a supervisor I was cut off. After nemerous phone calls during which times I was deliberatly cut off I finaly managed to speak to customer service and demand a refund. As yet I await with baited breath to see what happens, but if the last few days is anything to go by I think I will have to battle all the way to recieve my refund. I would not recommened this company to any one and would warn all potential customers to stay well clear.

Re: direct tvs.co.uk

I have now purchased a 32 Sony TV and a newer 46” Panasonic from DirectTVs with absolute no problem whatsoever.

Actually i don’t usually take the time out t write on these types of forums but on this occasion i thought i need to make an exception and take some time out to comment on the absolutely superb service from this company. In my opinion, only negative comments seem to reach the net and the positive experiences like mine are just happy with the service and stay quite.

I first purchased a Sony TV unit from these chaps about 3 months ago and at that time they where not only the cheapest online, they where also the only company who actually said it was in stock and when phoned to confirm, they actually checked physical stock with the warehouse. It arrived with standard delivery in about 3 days (at my request) and has been entertaining the Playstation ever since.

More recently i ordered a new Panasonic Freesat TV, which is quite a high end unit. Again, they where very competitively priced and indicated the unit in stock. This time i ordered the TV for next day because i was unwilling to wait for my new toy. Even with the extra stand and surround speaker system, the delivery charge was just a one-off for next day because everything was in stock.

I have contacted DirectTVs a few times now for advise when calling on behalf of friends who i have recommended and are not as net confident as me. The advice has always been really accurate and truthful with no hard sales overtones or attitude.

I would always recommend this company to my friends and who else wants either Tvs or laptops and actually use them as a benchmark when comparing to other internet shops.

This is like the never ending simply electrics thread,i was lucky in my purchase from them and had first rate servise scores did not but the other satisfied ones are not heard or bother to send as they may not know of the forum. Its a complex situation purchasing goods and online purchasing is always a little more worrying than a trip to currys.
