I am v confused - please can someone help?

I need software to let me edit mpeg2 into mpeg1 for use in powerpoint presentations - also to edit tv video footage for powerpoint. Sony have free updates for Imagemixer which would let me do this, however my camcorder came with picture motion browser which doesn't have this facility.

Download Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 trial.. I think you can get it for £45
The Non Platinum version is fine TBH but for not much more money the platinum version offers more in ability
There are many others and a search under Software here will bring them up but al of them are miles ahead in capability than the freebees that come with the camcorder
