Talking Gs3b

Hi everyone

Sorry the first thread was short and to the point, but my wife was nagging me to get a camcorder quick to get the little one while she was still young. I've settled on the panny GS3 and from what I've seen from basic use like it, however now I need some more help.

I'm going to be using my works laptop (Toshiba Satalite Pro 4300) to do all the editing on, the only thing is I have no Firewire card and no idea what software I need (I here Pinacle 8 is good?). Can anybody help me out so that I can get some good footage for the future.

THX
