Ive made my decision and decided on a HDD camera

What are the options. I know there is the panasonic SD1 and SD5 which uses SD cards

What are my option for a HDD camera for around £500?

Cheers
Rob

Sony SR5 is available for around £500

The SR7 and the Canon HG10 cost more... maybe if you go for an import/ebay you could get closer to £500.

Argos were selling off SR1's a month or two ago at £499, I doubt there are any left now.

Re: Ive made my decision and decided on a HDD camera

You can claim an additional £50 cashback on the SR5e and a free copy of Vegas BUT you gotta purchase before the 24th, and apply for the cashback by post before sometime in february...I got mine for £525 (minus £50) from currys digital highstreet on a pricematch against Dixon's online price (£525). If you go to Dixons online and use the code GIMME5 - you can get an extra 5% off (so that would be £450 total and free delivery)...but the recept MUST show the correct date for the Sony cashback!!

I jjust got the sr5 myself...I'm putting it through the paces just at the moment...so far I'm quite happy (the wife was delighted with the night vision function! she's so fickle ). Having some minor problems with the m2ts file conversion for my living room media player, but I'm pretty techy and confident I'll sort these transoding issues out.
