Exclamation Help! with Sony Handycam DCR-TRV730

Hi everybody,

I desperately need help with my handy cam because I have a major project due thursday that will decide my grade. So, I have a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV730 and have recorded my project already but I need to put it on my computer somehow. I have recorded on tape, NOT a memory stick. I have three different options on how I can put it on my computer, but when I plug it in, my computer doesn't register that it is connected (maybe i'm just stupid).

1. I have a USB cable that I have used, but it doesn't register that its connected.

2. I have the red, white, yellow cables, but I don't know how to play it on my computer. ( I have a media center w/ tv tuner btw.).

3. I have also tried to plug it in via S-video, but again, I do not know how to play it on my computer.

Please, Please help me!

PS: does anyone know any good video camera forums or somewhere I can get help?

I'm not sure how you have captured, but you shouldn't use any of those options listed; the best way (and only way to capture the video in full quality) is to use Firewire/I.link.
