that is really a good deal! Almost (not quite) would want to make me go back to a PC....No seriously, I used to love Sony Vegas for editing, getting it free with a Camera and cashback makes this a fantastic deal....Worth another bump

Re: sony cashback deal

I heard about this cashback offer and was expecting to find something inside the box when I opened my Sony HDR-SR7. They don't exactly advertise that fact, if they did they'd sell more. I'm happy though, makes my buy a great deal at £658 with cashback.

Re: sony cashback deal

Note that the documents you have to supply include the European Guarantee Information document, I guess that stops anyone who's bought a grey import from claiming.

That's a good buy, where did you get it from?

I sent my claim off today, I'll let you know when I get something back, it'll probably take a few weeks

Re: sony cashback deal

Got it off an ebay seller , gen UK model with European G I D , just waiting for a sales receipt to come through before I send the form off. Just wondered if it had to be a Sony dealer / participating store etc ?

Re: sony cashback deal

I wouldn't have thought so, as long as it's a genuine European model from a legitimate source.

Yup.. I sent mine off about 3 weeks ago but haven't heard a peep out of them!
Plenty of space on mr SR7 so no urgent need to get stuff off it yet!

Re: sony cashback deal

Just bought an SR7, but I'm in Holland. Can't find a link to a form, or something in the box. Is this only for UK?

Re: sony cashback deal

Damn!
Would have used the cashback to buy a mini-hdmi cable (which they should've enclosed anyway )

All this cash back malarkey is just a sales ploy to catch you on the hook and then wind you in, which they seem to do with many people that cannot see past the end of their nose. NOTHING IS FOR FREE, the cashback sum's ARE already taken into account when the price's are set, they are put into place knowing that they will be refunded so why not reduce the price by £30/£50 in the first place? it's because it look's good from a sales tactic point of view. They will have to get up earlier in the morning to catch me out. It's an old, old sales ploy, hype up the price then offer cashback and hey presto, you've got the price that you originally wanted. Unless you want to kid yourself and be brainwashed of course.

Re: sony cashback deal

Yep, but if you find where it is the cheapest on the net you still get a pretty good deal
