camcorder, e30 & help

Hi everyone,

I am looking at getting a dv camcorder with an aim to transfer the tape to my e30 dvdr burner. Is this possible and would I get more than 18 minutes on it (I have read a few of marks posts)?

Is there a specific camcorder to get? I would spend up to £900?

It would mostly be family stuff and holidays etc but I would watch it through a plasma so quality is a priority. Sony are going to bring out a cam with dvd ram on it which my e30 may be able to play, should I wait for that or would it be more than £900/not compatable?

Cheers

Alex
