Red face Sony HC 3: Detection Problem: help

Hi, I got the SONY HDR-DC3 camcorders and try to take some shot, when i finished half of the tape(just 20 mins used), I tried to record the tape to my leopard and vista(I'm using MACBOOK PRO and firewire 400). My leopard can't detect my cam but vista did, it successfully copy the tape to AVI format.
When I just finished the whole tape, I tried again, both my leopard and vista can not detect the cam anymore.
Any suggestions to take out my tape??

thx a lot!~

Re: Questions about HDV

If it is anything like the HC 1, or FX1,
You may need to specify in the camcorder Menu whether you want to output as HDV or DV, and not just use Auto.
Also check to see whether you have enabled the HDV to DV downconvert
I
When you change the setting you will need to unplug and replug the firewire cable
This however applies to XP, im not sure if any additional steps are need in Vista or Leopard
Could be Simple things lke loose Firewire cables
Ive modified your thread title to reflect the problem, as it isnt an HDV specific one
