Thanks: Gave 98, Got 101 | 1st AVCHD Disc Attempt
Transferred 33 mins of H def footage to laptop from Sony SR7 using Sony PMB ok and it plays fine on machine.
Followed instructions and created AVCHD disc , plays back a little jerkily on laptop.
Laptop spec is Intel Core Duo 1.73ghz , 1gb Ram Vista.
I tried the disc in my Samsung BD1000 Bluray player , it loads but nothing happens.
Any ideas ?
TIA

TIA | Complain to Sony sounds the best approach. Though I suppose they would quite probably pass you on to Samsung. Any stores where you could try it in a Sony player?

I think if you could find a Sony BDP and try oit on that, Julian, and if it still didn't work, then you would have a case to complain to Sony.
Can I suggest a media player (why not, I have on every other thread)? http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/products/product1.aspx |

Also you could try the Panasonic HD software, apparently it produces discs readable by BD players such as made by alpine 101

Maybe it's worth trying: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...hd_writer.html
Edit: I don't think this download will work on its own: it's only 9.6MB.

send me the footage you have and a blu ray drive and i'll sort it for ya...
you need a 2GHZ cpu really, how are you burning it?, you could save the video and audio as an m2ts then remultiplex the stream to an MP4 container... then burn that as a data blu ray....the ps3 can play that

I think he trying to avoid needing to go from AVCHD to m2t then go back to anMP4 container ( very understadable) simply to play on a Blu ray player
The PS3 can read either of AVCHD or m2t natively anyway but the object of this is to see what a standalone BD player can do
You may be best off explaining the process as simply as possible rather than do it for him

Yes trying to avoid any further use of computer , was just hoping the created disc would play in the Samsung BD player.
Going to try it in a Sony one this weekend if I see one in store , but that naughty man Rhubarbe has interested me in the Tvix HD media player.
