Panasonic GX7 - microphone

I want to get myself a stereo microphone for my GX7.
Panasonic's own mic. vw-vms2 is out of stock at the moment, does anyone know if its any good ?
Will a Sony mic work with my GX7 ? Sony's emc-hs1 is cheaper than the Panasonic as well. Both mics use the smart shoe so I thought they would be compatible !?? any help is appriciated.
