Question What Camcorder Would you Recommend for £300?

Hi there,

I hope you don't mind me asking your advice with my first post?

We're expecting our first baby in a day or so and I want to get a camcorder to capture the baby growing up.

I have a budget of around £300, what would you recommend? I've been looking at HDD recorders for their ease of use, but I've seen that you think tape might be better for the money?

I don't mind going a bit over budget if I will be able to afford something that would be significantly better!

What do you recommend?

Thanks

Dave

£300 seems a common budget, have you seen this recent thread?
Recommended Hard drive camcorder for Under £300

DV models: Panasonic GS320, Sony HC96.
HDD: Panasonic H250, Sony SR190 ( both are over budget)

And "in a day or so", too. You'd think they'd get more warning than that.
