Can AVHD discs be played in a HDDVD player?

Can AVHD discs be played in a HDDVD player?
As i understand AVHD discs can be played in the PS3,but can they also be played in the xbox 360 HD drive as well?

Thanx for any help on this matter

AVCHD discs will play in a Blu-Ray player, not a HD-DVD player (so I don't think the Xbox 360 HD will play them either, as that is acting as a HD-DVD player).

No, the HD-DVD player supports WMV-HD, and Mpeg2 (1080i)
However suitably authored, the actual video source of HD DVD discs can be from mpeg2, h.264 or VC1 ( a subset of WMV-HD).. The same is true for Blu ray
