Question Simple Video8 or Hi8 Camcorder

My old SONY CCD-F500e is defunct and I need to transfer the tapes to my DVD recorder. MOST WERE RECORDED IN LP mode.

There are not many standard Video8 models around any more, so
does anyone know which SONY Hi8 camcorders will be compatible?

Sony's website is not very helpful on these older models.

I'm possibly thinking of any of these models:-
CCD-TRV218E
CCD-TRV228E
CCD-TRV21E

CCD-TR485E
CCD-TR713E

Any help appreciated, and believe me,google search did not produce the right answers for me - but gave loads of links to battery resellers!

Re: Simple Video8 or Hi8 Camcorder

I was in a similar situation not so long ago, I found that the Sony models which were capable of handling Video 8 tapes were models that ran up to 120, anything after that in the 200's seemed only able to handle digital 8. except for a few models.
My advice is to do a "watch" on E/bay for models 110/120E also you can check the Sony web site and download the manuals, this way you can check if the cameras handle Video 8.

Also be aware that footage shot in LP mode may not play well on another model of camcorder

Thanks. I had not looked at Digital 8, but its a thought.
I really needed assurance from someone that the analogue Hi8 models all played back standard Video8 recordings.
