From the limited available info on this cam I think the following applies:
it is an analogue Hi8 cam
it is very old (1990's model)
so what advice are you after on this?
I assume you have been offered this cam and wonder if it is worth buying. The answer to that depends on what the price is. Due to it being old and analogue (although high end in its day) I would only say it is worth buying if it is very cheap and you are on a tight budget.
Brand new miniDV digital camcorders will be a lot smaller & lighter, cost from under £200 and will come with a guarentee.
If you give us an idea of your budget and the type of use you want from a cam we may be able to offer you more detailed advice.
