HDD suitable for editing? HELP!

I am currently looking to buy some new DV editing software and have chosen Pinnacle Studio 8. I have looked at the spec for the product on their website. My PC meets the required spec but there is one thing that is confusing me. They say that the HDD needs to be able to have a throughput of 4mb/sec!?! Any idea what this means? If so, would a Quantum Fireball LCT20 40Gb be acceptable? The drive speed is 5400 RPM if that is any help. The PC is about 2 yrs old, 1.1Ghz, 512 Mb RAM, etc

If any body can help me this i am very grateful.

Thanks!

Thanks: Gave 15, Got 465
Any HDD that is ATA100 or better should be better than the spec required, and these days that must be just about all of them.

The Quantum Fireball LCT20 40Gb should work, but any web sites selling these should also list the specs. Or try the Quantum web site.

Mark.
