Ulead Movie factory plug-in now has BD-MV support!

Hi, Just purchased the new plugin for ulead dvd movie factory 6+ and it now has bd-mv support so you can have animated titles etc. It also support AVCHD disc so you can put hdv on to dvd and playback via your blu-ray or ps3! Also has support for HD-DVD stuff too.
Buring a BD-mv as i type will let you know how it goes

Re: Ulead Movie factory plug-in now has BD-MV support!

Thanks, I got a copy of the Ver 6 (non plus) version and returned it because it stopped short of supporting BD in this way.
Saying that ver 5 ( not plus) did , though not for AVCHD
I thought the plug in was intrinsic to the software
You obviously had to buy the plug in separately though didnt you? , If so that would bump up the cost. ( naughty ulead) Still, £9.99 is not exactly bank bursting
Best of all it works.. with the PS3

Hi mate, did you burn to a standard DL Dvd or to a blu-ray disk? (I've had a quick look at Ulead's web page and it says burn hd-dvd's to standard single layer or dual layer disks, but under the blu-ray section, it says burn to blu-ray disks!)

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Ulead Movie factory plug-in now has BD-MV support!

I tried a BD-MV to a BD-RE 25gb disc worked great, i also tried the same files as a AVCHD dvd disc, worked just the same as the blu-ray! Have not tried BD-MV to dvd(mini-BD). I will try tomorrow and post the results.

I take it the AVCHD disk was just a standard run of the mill DVD disk off the shelf burnt as a AVCHD disk??? and if so, what your saying is this disk when put in the PS3 played back fine??? and at full 1080p res???

Sorry if the questions are a bit stupid, just need to get thinkgs clear in my head....wasn't sure if AVCHD disks played in a blu-ray or hd-dvd player (or both??)

Yeah let us know the results of your test (Mini-BD) when you find out!

Thanks

Re: Ulead Movie factory plug-in now has BD-MV support!

I was unable to select any other media types when i selected BD-MV or BD-AV apart for 25/50gb BD-Discs.I used a standard 4.3gb dvd and selected AVCHD in the menu. As far as i am aware it will only play in a blu-ray player inc ps3, Correct me if i am wrong someone but AVCHD discs are not for use in a HD-DVD player. However movie factory will also allow you to burn a mini-HD-DVD by selecting HD-DVD in the menu and selecting 4.3/8.5gb in the media choice menu. Again i am not sure if 1080/50hz is supported by the HD-DVD spec, you may have to convert to NTSC which will give you motion judder but i maybe wrong. Maybe someone can verify that.

Well aslong as the AVCHD files plays back on a PS and on a PS3 that'll be fine, i'll be happy with that.....just need to know if this AVCHD plays back in it's full 1080 glory??? (i'm assuming you only managed to get like 30-40 minutes on a 4.7GB disk?

Yes m2t and indeed other Hi Def files derived from HDV and AVCHD play as 1080 . The playback time varies too but your estimate is about right
Dont forget the PS3 is capable of upscaling SD mpeg2 to 1080p
