Compressing AVI file for YouTube

Compressing AVI file for YouTube
Anyone know a way of compressing an 800Mb .avi file to uploaded it to Youtube that has a 100Mb limit? I tried converting it to a VCD but I couldn't isolate the file to upload.

Easiest way is probably to make a movie with the avi file using msft movie maker, and output to a wmv file. This will probably result in a 10MB file to upload to you-tube.
