I currently use a Sony TRV30 camcorder which produced excellent quality video. I want to purchase a camcorder of similar standard that shoots in True widescreen. I use IMovie HD 06 on the Mac which I believe can edit in this format. The Canon MVX460 appears to be true 16:9 - not sure how it performs. The other requirement is that it should be very small and light. Looked at the HV10 - looks a possibility.

MVX460 was an excellent value model (now discontinued), it is true widescreen.

But of course it is not HD... if you can afford it the HV10 is better. (All HDV models are true/native widescreen).
