Viewing DV on a laptop

Hi - I have a sony Digital 8 DCR - TRV530E camcorder. I want to connect this to my laptop simply to view the recorded output on the screen. My camcorder has i-link and so does my laptop (firewire). I seem to be able to "capture" video on my laptop using things like windows movie maker - but I I do not want to store the recording - I only need to view the ouput of the taped video from the camcorder onto the laptop monitor. Is there anyway I can use software to do this using the firewire port? If not, then what device do I need to achieve it?

Second question: What device do I need to view satellite TV on my laptop? I want to connect my Sky digibox directly to my laptop and use the laptop as a TV?
