New Camcorder from Currys *ADVICE*

Ive just recieved £400 of vouchers for Currys which I intended to use for a Sanyo Xacti HD2 camcorder - however, apparently there is no stock of these in currys stores for the forseeable future so am looking at alternatives. If not an SDcard model then i would be looking for a HDD one, if possible one with external input so i can use a bullet cam etc.

Any advice or suggestions gratefully recieved

Cheers

I don't think there are any SD or HDD cams with an av-in for a bullet cam.

Suggest sell Curry's vouchers and buy something else (very likely cheaper than at Currys) that Curry's don't sell, like an (HD) Canon HV10, (SD) Sony DCR-HC95, both of which use DV tape.

Or you could get the Aiptek DV Z300 - no OIS (or EIS) but has h.264 and it's even smaller and much cheaper than the Sanyo. 720p, too.

Thanks for the reply mate. I nipped into my local currys store to have a look at the options available and lo and behold, theres my coveted Sanyo HD2 - in stock! Seems currys customer service line dont know what the stores have in after all.

Cheers

I think the HD2 has been discontinued in Currys though, so the likelyhood is, the one you saw on display, is the one you are buying.

The guy i spoke to in store seemed to know far more than the customer service line and said there has been unprecedented demand for these. Luckily they had 2 in so I got a totally mint boxed one
