Hi All,

I used my Panasonic NVGS250 to record the first birthday party of my daughter and was quite dissapointed with the results. The footage was all taken indoors and came out quite dark with people in the video appearing in silhouette. I think what I need is one of those light thingys that constantly shine in the direction of the filming and a tripod. Does anyone know of any light thingys and tripods that are compatable with the NVGS250?

Your camcorder has a standard accessory shoe so it will take any video light made for a camcorder with a standard shoe. I have one of these, but you can find cheaper ones

Like all camcorders, it has a standard tripod mount, so any tripod will work. You want to get a video tripod with a fluid head. A good value one is the Velbon DV7000, but there are may others.

It will work, but won't be as stable or as smooth in panning than a better model.

Thanks for the info Mark. I've bought the Velbon DV7000. It's a great tripod but I wish it came with instructions as there are a lot of things you can do with it. .
