shoe for my sony sr32 HDD?

I recently bought a sony SR32 HDD Camcorder, which at the time was fine, but.... now I am doing a fair bit of recording in low light I was wondering if it was possible to add a shoe to the top of the camcorder, there is a gap with 3 small screw holes where one could be attached but I cannot seem to find one anywhere... I'm not worried about it being an 'active' shoe, just one being there would help... I did purchase a shoe from the net but it was too bit to fit into the gap...
Could anybody help me please????
