adding music to videos ?

I have a lot of music in my iTunes and want to add tracks to my videos, Im using uLead 10 , but all my music is in mp3 format , what do i have to do to get them into the format that i want to be able to play behind my videos ?
Can I just add them in MP3 and will it all work out in the end ? many thanks

Re: adding music to videos ?

Yes Ulead (and other editing programs) will let you add music in mp3 format, as well as wav (from CD etc) and sometimes other formats too - as long as copying restrictions on the files don't prevent you from adding them...

Re: adding music to videos ?

As is stated above, most of the NLE titles allow importation of various audio formats ( including Mp3 and wma).( i tunes Im less sure of, but wav files seem to be universally compatible)
They also allow you to rip an audio CD from within the program
(if there is no DRM or other such copy protection!)
The Plus version of Most give more than one video and audio track such that you can end up with a video with its own sound, A music background and a vocal narration..
Obviously for this to work well you would have to be able to control the volume levels of each audio track separately.
You however have to be aware that the use of copyrighted audio in work which may be of commercial value may be skirting on the fringes of what is legally permissible. For home use ( or friends and family) it shouldn't be an issue. If in doubt, there are commercially available ( and affordable) royalty free music
