JVC Everio GZ-MG77EK £297 but any good?

Hi,
I was at my local Costco this morning and they have the JVC Everio GZ-MG77EK for sale at £297, I came home a did a few searches and online the cheapest I seem to be able to see it is around £475 - £499.

So it looks like a bargain and I'm off to florida in 6 weeks so have that long to decided on what to buy.

Does anyone have any experiance of this camera to be honest I had a play with it and it seems a bit plasticky but has all the features im looking for. Wide angle and HDD.

Also a read an amazon review where someone said you could only the software that comes with the camera for editing which doesnt sound very good. Anyone know the facts on this ?

If it uses MOD files they are just a variant of mpeg2 which most recent software can edit.
Other than that ,I have limited exposure to the Everios
I have edited footage from an Everio camcorder in Avid Liquid which was easy to do. The footage was underwhelming but that could be due to the lighting and the operator!
The Everio camcorder and footage I saw at a Consumer video show was brilliant... *sigh*

Unrelated.. I know..

JVC hard drive video came ..burnt dvd wont play

Hey, I'm off to Florida in that amount of time too. And am looking at hard disk cameras, and also went to Costco. Here's a review of the 77 ... http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...der-Review.htm ...
