Canon MD101 & Apple iMovie issue...

Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this.

I've just got my MD101 and have recorded some test footage in 16:9. I have just linked the canon to my mac and when iMovie imports the footage it imports it in 4:3. I've tried everything I can think of to get around this but no joy yet as iMovie auto selects the format.

Any ideas welcome!
