Post Panasonic NV-GS80eb Any good?

Hows this Panasonic NV-GS80eb???

Where is the best place to get reviews instead of keep asking on here?

I've tried searching this site, but there is nothing really about the motor noise on this camera -- and that is very important to me.

If you have one, or know anything, please let me know.

Re: Panasonic NV-GS80eb Any good?

Motor noise is uncommon is Panasonic's and Sony's.. Even with Canons one or 2 models have been identified but it isn't a brand specific problem
All camcorder mics can pick some motor noise on very quiet scenes but very few will get as annoying as your recent experience unless there is a fault

I had 2 Panasonic's which were brilliant, the Sony's past and currently in service have been fine and I even have a "crap" JVC knockabout whose mic seems to ignore any motor noise under normal recording conditions

I have to say , I havent seen a review of this model although TBH, not all models of kit get reviewed and you sometimes have to buy with "faith"

I've read somewhere you cannot hear any motor noise, I've ordered this camera, awaiting delivery as they were out of stock. I'll be able to let you know next week, hopefully!

Re: Panasonic NV-GS80eb Any good?

There's a french video magazine (videomagazine.com) which has reviewed the GS80, they've even got a video showing the zoom motor noise from it (or lack of noise). They liked it too I think. Some people have posted sample videos to camcorderinfo.com too (look in the forums there). I have to say the zoom was impressive but the picture itself seemed a bit blurry and weak, that could have been the compression used for the web though (even if the file was 63MB).
