Vegas 7.0 - attaining 2.35:1 aspect ratio

I'm using Vegas 7 and I'm trying to convert my 16:9 footage to 2.35:1 pixel aspect ratio. My current method involved taking two media text objects with a black background with no text, one for the top and one for the bottom.

At 1080i, I decided that each object should take up roughly 130 pixels on both top and bottom, so that way the dimensions would be roughly 1920x820, which is about 2.35:1.

When I render it out, there are two small horizontal strips of video shown at the very top and bottom of the film where it should be completely blacked out. Is there any way to fix this? It's as if Vegas cuts the media objects while rendering, applying some sort of "safe zone".

I use these settings while rendering:
WMV codec
16:9 aspect ratio (I've also tried directly rendering it in 2.35:1 with no luck)

Thanks in advance for the help!

I don't know how to best do this, or why you would want to? To take 16/9 footage and change it to 2.35 you would have to crop or stretch it. Vegas doesn't apply a "safe zone".

Yes, in essence I'm cropping about 130 pixels from the top and bottom of the frame.

I figured out how to fix my problem, if anybody is interested. In the media object, one must select the "no" option for "Stretch to fill frame" setting in the event pan/crop.
