Hi

Thinking of going for the Samsung VP-DC371W a widescreen compact digital camcorder for £135.
Has anyone any comments on this as I cannot find a review on it.

Thanks

A few weeks ago my cousine got the DC375 (which has the same Auto focus etc as the 371) but has SD card slot + Mpeg 4 recording on SD card.

On paper it looks brilliant but to cut a long story short he really regrets it as the colours are very weak and it is extremely grainy, its like looking at a movie projected on to sand paper.

SD card feature is a load of kak and just a gimick, Mpeg 4 movies on the samsung are rubbish, you can get a better picture quality from movies put on 20 year old Commodore Amigas or Atari STs.

Only good thing about Samsung is the auto focus in most places that was good, but the grainy-ness is horrible, at night is lost focus a lot.

Save your money and get a JVC GRD 760 or Panasonic GS80 or Sony HC37.
