Im after a hi def camcorder for my wedding next year. Are there any available? Am i best waiting till nearer my wedding?

There are plenty HD camcorders available now from most of the major brand names, just do a Google for High Definition camorder.
The question regarding "buy now or wait" isn't easily answered, the manufactures bring out new models on a regular basis so what's on offer now probably won't be available next year although I would imagine there will be a larger selection.
If you wait till next year you may be able to pick up this years models at much reduced prices

Yes I would agree, but in the meantime do your homework on all the cameras available and decide which one suits your needs best, then when the time comes to buy you'll know excatly what to buy either the newest model when available or this years "end of line" bargains

Absolutely.. Unlike MiniDV ( SD ) in its heyday, Hi def Has perhaps 4 varieties
HDV ( tape)
HDD. DVD and Flash memory ( SD card or Memory stick ) ( AVCHD)
And then there are the Sanyo models doing AVCHD at 720p
And .. the need to edit.. ( or not) should guide you in your research

Hi Def Camcorders are not a homogeneous group and have been available for perhaps 2 years now
