Creating 3D Video

During the 1950's there was a 3D craze with film-makers. People used cardboard glasses with different coloured lenses to view the film and see a 3D image. Can this 3D effect be achieved today using digital video? What equipment would you use to capture the image, edit it and finally project and view it? Is there still a source of cheap 3D viewing glasses? It would be an interesting project to attempt!#

Re: Creating 3D Video

I was dealing with 3D graphic when I was in college. Strictly speaking, you will need two cameras, which is in pre-calculated position to film the same object at the same time.

Then you can let computer (and program) do the rest job to generate 3D. The stereo picture with red / blue method was quite basic one anyway.
