| Re: Buying advice Sony 47 or Sony 46E
The HC46 is a previous model, it was replaced by the HC47. The main differences are that the HC46 has a slightly larger CCD, and it also has DV in which was dropped on the HC47. In favour of the HC47 it has an auto slow shutter mode which gives better colour in low light (but if there is much movement will not be smooth). Overall performance is similar.
Panasonic GS80 doesn't have DV in either. Video performance also similar to the above.
If DV in is important (to archive edited projects to tape in full quality) then the HC46 is best (if you can still get it); otherwise not much in it.
