UV or not UV for HV20 ?

For the HV20, is it better to have a UV filter rather than a plain glass muticoated one ?
Why I'm asking is that I've just ordered a Hama HTMC UV filter, then read a post on another forum
......" The salesperson suggested looking into a clear filter instead of UV as, according to him, the HV 20 lens fabrication actually takes care of the UV's and there would be less light loss ".
Does this make sense to anyone ?

No...
The UV filters are generally very subtle enough to make use without any serious worry about losing any light.. anyway you can remove it while shooting if it appears to do so ( highly unlikely)
When they were "invented" , film was the prevalent video/still medium . Digital sensors are leess prone ot any negative effects of UV so they benefit a bit less but this is not to say that the HV 20 lens has any special UV protection
Note that all filters ( UV or plain) will increase the chances of lens flare and may be best used with a Hood

Thanks for your quick reply.....

I was mainly thinking of lens protection use and preventing any dust etc fouling up that 'trap door' auto lens cover on the HV20.
Do you know where a can obtain a 43mm hood for the HV20 ?
Nothing too large, so as not to interfear with the focusing senser etc..
A flexable rubber hood would be best.
Tried a few sites I know, but nothing in that thread size available.
