Question Small hand held digital camcorder ... what one?

I am after a small handheld solid state digital camcorder to take on holiday. This will be my first camcorder. I am not after something top of the range. Just something small, light and easy to use which will take reasonable quality video. I have a digital camera for photos.

I was considering the Sanyo Xacti CA6. Does anyone have one of these? What do you think of it?

I have also seen these ones on ebay like the one below which seems to have a good spec for the price and has a SONY CCD. What do you guys think of the ebay one?

Or can anyone recommend any other solid state digital camcorders I should look at?

Thanks.
Nickp.

Re: Small hand held digital camcorder ... what one?

Hi Nickp. You should also look at the Canon Powershot TX1. Its a small 7mp camera with camcorder. It has a 10x zoom and can shoot 720p high def video onto SDHC cards.

Theres an active user group for the camera over at http://powershot-tx1.blogspot.com

You should be able to find out quite a bit over there.

Re: Small hand held digital camcorder ... what one?

Thanks but not really looking to spend that much.

I have just realised the ebay ones have no optical zoom so it looks like the Sanyo Xacti is the one to go for unless there is something else in the same price range which is better.
