Help For A Noob.. Please

Hi guys, what a great forum you have here

This is my first post so please excuse me of writing in the wrong section..

I am in desperate need of help to connect my Swann DIY Security camera to my JVC CamCorder ( GR-D290 )... I have already switched the "AV IN" on but when i plug in my S/AV cable into the av jack, the screen turns black.. is this correct?

I have no clue as what to do next..so this is where you guys come in... what color plugs do i connect with what?, do i have the correct equipment or am i missing some stuff? I have provided pics(below) to help you understand what im talking about...

if your wondering what its for... Its for a motocross helmet cam..

The red and white connectors are for stereo audio. For video, you can use either the yellow composite video, or the S-video connector (depending on what connections you have on the other end).
