It is a fascinating video

There are a few Premiere users on here but they tend to just visit.. and Lurk and post less

Premiere and After effects arent everyones cup of tea TBH and theyve become rather costly lately. I stopped using them about 18months ago

Re: Help please!! any video editors here using adobe aftereffects or premiere??

Hi Peachyclean,

How about opening up Premiere and placing one of your green screen clips in video channel 1. Set a keyframe at the beginning then go to the end of the clip and either change the vertical position value (Video Effects > Motion) to move the picture down the screen, or drag the video window down with the mouse. Keyframe this too. Your picture will now scroll down and off-screen as it plays.

Then put your next clip in video channel 2 and using the same technique, align it so that it starts off screen and scrolls down. Overlap the two channels so that the video matches.

Repeat as many times as required.

Finally add a background using the chromakey feature. I’d create a continuous cloud sequence with downward motion in AfterEffects which runs for the total length of the video, and key this in place.

I hadn’t seen the video you mentioned before; maybe I will have a play with something similar this weekend.

Ian

Re: Help please!! any video editors here using adobe aftereffects or premiere??

Thanks for that
The Problem with using other Software ( such as Avid Liquid and Canopus Edius) is that a lot of compositing is "built in" to the NLE and the need for After effects doesn't immediately arise
Still just like people say how the PP stills , it would be interesting to know how that video came about

Re: Help please!! any video editors here using adobe aftereffects or premiere??

The ones I know ( and use) are Sony Vegas and Avid Liquid
( I also instruct in the the use of Pinnacle studio, Ulead video studio and Premiere Elements which are all budget NLEs : Unable to do that sort of video you linked)

Canopus Edius is another and (Avid Xpress Pro) : a tad costly are others.
It is almost impossible to know how an effect was achieved if one isn't told which software ( packages) were used and how as they all have strengths and weaknesses
Also many Editors have 3rd party add on plug-ins which enhance their abilities beyond the basics
And within the industry there are customised very costly software which never get sold elsewhere

I use premiere, but without it in front of me I couldn't help (at work now). surely you have read the manuals before asking on here?

those aren't cheap programmes to just buy without knowing how to use a video editor?!

Re: Help please!! any video editors here using adobe aftereffects or premiere??

To be fair. you could have some working knowledge of Premiere but still not be able to do the effects on that video

Given that these effects can be achieved in more ways than one The OP was probably seeking ideas more than anything else
I think a ready made answer may be difficult especially if
1 it wasnt done with Premiere /After effects
2 3rd party plug ins were used

It is possible that some high end non prosumer kit and custom made software (eg as used by Sky/BBC) was used... Might even be on a Mac with Final Cut Pro and many of its plug ins

Oh....Premieres manual sucks!.. .That is partly why so many training courses exist

As Senu says, there are more and better ways to create the effect you are looking for. My ideas are a starting point which you can embelish with your own ideas.

One excellent place for ideas are the tutorials and forums on Creative Cow.

Please post a link to your video when its finished!
