Panasonic NV-GS60EB-S Vs Canon MD101

We are in the process of upgrading from a VHS-C camcorder to a mini-dv camcorder. We have a budget of £150 - £200 and have narrowed our list of potential buys down to a Panasonic NV-GS60EB-S or a Canon MD101, both of which seem to have very similar specs. Being new to digital camcorders we are hoping to find some impartial advise on which of these is best ,I have seen quite a few positive reviews on the Canon but can't find anything on the Panasonic. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Panasonic NV-GS60EB-S Vs Canon MD101

I've not seen a review of the GS60 or it in action. Based on the previous models I expect quality to be similar to the Canon MD101 in 4:3 mode, but the Canon (which is "true widescreen") to be better in widescreen mode.

The Canon also has a external mic input, if you ever want to use one.
