Convert .vob files for use with Windows Moviemaker

I am asking this on behalf of a relative, who has very limited finance.

Can you recommend a program, either free or cheap, by which he can convert .vob files to show on his cptr or dvd player? He tells me that some he has tried hang for yonks and so are useless.

Re: Convert .vob files for use with Windows Moviemaker

But to convert to use with WMM I imagine means he want to edit the VOBs : not possible with WMM
He either needs software which can edit mpeg ( They all can now TBH) or software to convert the VOBs
Given the limitations of WMM.. I would rather look for a very cheap copy of say, Ulead Video Studio 10 plus ( PCW were doing it for £19)

If that is in fact the case I fully agree with you regarding VLC
For Playback, VLC is not only free It is probably the most capable and least resource hungry media player in existence

GOM player is another .. on occasion it needs internet access to update codecs though
Saying that there are lots of freebee ( and nolimited "shareware") 3rd part mpeg2 decoders which allow even WM player playbacl VOBs once the codecs are on ones system

I think you mean THIS

Im still a bit confused by the OPs needs though and how WMM gets involved in all this

I understand the limited finance hence free or cheap ( Womble is not free and cheap is relative)

To view VOB files on the computer .. the VLC and GOM and even WMP will do
To get them to DVD, as VOB they shouldn't actually need converting anyway

However Ulead Movie Factory is simple to use and inexpensive

Both itself and Womble Have 30 day trials to try b4 buying
